Throttle cable adjustment results

i noticed that my throttle cable had stretched so I did what I always do. Posted a question on Snowest and the members got me straightened right out. Very easy to do, there is a fat spot on the cable right where it passed the riser covered by a soft rubber cover. Pulled that cover back. Very easy to figure out how to do it. I adjusted all the slack out. Started the sled to make sure I wasn't going to get a high idle. For some reason the idle is settled in at 1750-1800 and holding steady. Also, my reverse now works on the first push. I have had trouble with my reverse from the get go. Sometimes it works right away, sometimes I have to push it 3-4 time. Now it works slick, push the buttom and it switched to reverse or back immediately. Also, my idle moves from 1800-2300 before the adjustment. I think somehow adjusting the cable has effected the TPS. So, in 5 minutes, I have a steady idle and a reverse that works like it is supposed to. One thing I made sure of was to shine a light into the engine compartment and make sure that the flipper hit the bar right when the bell crank on the butterfly shaft stopped so I wasn't putting pressure on it past the stop.

Good deal. I'm sure I need to double check mine..
Also, a tight belt will lower RPM. Sometimes you may not hear it squeek even. Mine was very borderline, sometimes a squeeky, sometimes sounded fine.
This 'lower RPM' at idle may also effect RER.

I've known some carbed Doos to take a little throttle to hold idle properly then hit the RER.
I know the Pol engines don't like that trick as much, trying to help the Pol engine idle seems to confuse the EFI and can have the opposite intended effect...less RPM.
