I read all the TPS setting info and its all spot on makes building a TPS tool and setting a easy job that anyone can be confident in making. I have one tip I don't believe anyone mentioned in any of the previous posts made. What I established when setting my TPS. I set the throttle plate voltage and the idle voltage to specs. Did a sweep and checked the sensor for dead spots. Then just from previous experence setting TPS on VES engine where it gets set at WOT I thought it would be a good idea to set/check this as well with throttle cable adjustment.
So with the tool hooked up and throttle zip tied to the bar at WOT pinned I adjusted the throttle cable to get the sensor to read its max voltage then stop adjustment. This ended up being 4.17 volts and tightened the cable adjusters this way. (DO NOT use my measurement as a goal or target every system could have a variable in this area) this verifyed that the plates were opening fully and that TPS would give ECU the max voltage it could for reference. I don't know what value the ecu is programmed for to actually say its at WOT but I thought this was something worth doing while I was in there. Cable freeplay still is correct and didn't cause the plates to stay open on idle either verifyed this by checking idle voltage that was previously measured. And physically checking throttle free play.
If this makes any kind of a difference I have no idea but for the 3 minutes it took might be worth doing to get the most out of your CFI system.
Maybe I just made a work project out of making these steps I really don't know.
Give me your feed back on this please. I am interested to see if this is something anyone has tryed before and got any results out of.
