Three planetarys all chipped teeth in 1000 miles!!!

Anybody else, if so opinions? First one was stock gearing around 300 miles, next two were bdx gears, all on the same stock 2011 hcr. Its getting pretty old, any ideas? O ya running the double row the whole time too. Had three other m's with many different gear sets never had one let go on any of them.

After the first one did you COMPLETELY remove all the components and bearings and clean the case thoroughly? If not, you could just be recycling the debris from failure #1 and failure #2.

i did flush all the debris even though most were flakes already. the ring gear teeth look good no deformities from flying teeth, not sure where theyre gettin chewed up.

James, there's got to be something else going on... no way it's a coincidence.

Any chance there's debris in a low point in the ring gear causing pressure each time the planetary spins past it? I've had another guy with exactly that, tried to keep the ring, and it just toasted the planetary 150 mi later.

btw, I've got two spare planetaries here, you can have them for shipping if you want the... if nothing else you've got a spare sitting there when you need it. You've picked up enough stuff from me, I don't mind tossing some spare parts your way :D

that sounds like an offer too good to refuse BCIL. ill take them! there is one tooth on the ring gear that has a small "deformity" to the touch almost invisable on the top but where the gears mesh it looks just like the rest.... could that be?

With what you're seeing, I've GOT to think that something minor like that is causing it man.

I could get a new ring gear sent to me, then ship the planetaries & the new ring gear up to you in one batch... No big deal man. I'd hate to see that keep happening, so I'd hope that's it.
