Three people Stuck at RE 12-30-07

Got word tonight that three peeps may be spending the night in nasty conditions on the South side of RE pass. Word is that they got down in a creek tip one sled it is wet will not run and they have been in white out conditions. SAR will not go out do to the conditions.

Praying for the best.

Steph

I sure hope they are not spending the night, and if they are I hope and pray that they are safe and have enough survival gear!!!

they was not planning on staying. do not know the stat of gear. From Bushmasters posts on snow condition page it does not sound like it is a good night up top.

EVERYTHING in the state road-wise is closed. The folks in the MC lot tonight are their best bet if SAR is waiting until it clears up. Bush knows that area as well as anyone.

Praying for the best outcome.

Yea glad to hear that Bushmaster is up top. He likes to live out their. If Iam ever lost hope he is up top.

One of our friends when he got the call tonight was thinking that he was going to go up. My husband broke the news that the roads are closed and how bad of an idea it would be to try and find them tonight.

Let's not add to the problem. need to be able to see.

Prayers

ZRT1 on sledmods.com said he spoke to them and they are getting ready to build a fire. S&R should hook up with Busha and everybody int he MC lot. No one knows the area better than Bush. I hope they are safe and find some sort of warmth.

I went skiing today at A-Basin. Took 2 runs and headed to the Dam Brewery bc it was so Dam cold and windy. All roads into the mtns are shut down till the AM so a lot of us cannot go up and help tomorrow.

We spent New years Eve on the mountain two years ago. NOT fun.....hope they are out of the wind and have a big fire going. At best you can sleep for 30 minutes at a time and wake up freezing cold! You wouldnt believe how long the nights are. Hope they all make it out ok. Eric

I'm gonna call S&R and see if I can help out in the AM. We might have gone out earlier tonight but with no specific location it's a fools errand. I imagine when the sun pokes up they'll be hightailing it out on their own, but in the dark and with this blizzard the best option might be to sit tight in a snow cave. Hopefully they can get a fire going in a sheltered spot and stay warm. That would sure help out with the mental battle. Pray this weather breaks soon. It's already let up a lot, but it's still no picnic. After riding 3 days already, I just watched football and marvelled at natures ferocity outside. My riding partner couldn't make it and I didn't mind at all!

Well, Bush you stay safe you are one of the best hopes for them in the am. Have another :beer; We all will keep them in our prayers and only :clock: will tell. I sure hope that the one that went in the creek had good gear on and is not too wet. Cold and wet with the wind factor is what will make the diff of frostbite or not.

We would be up to help but right now we are not riding due to Michael's back surgery 11-29 and he still has not put his sled back together from last yars 4M ride.

I did get to have my first ride of this year around the house last Thursday. Not what I wanted but, I want hubbys back to heal from the two rods and four screws. I am hoping to make it to the ride this year. But,we will see how the healing is going.

Latter,
Steph

I just talked with Routt County Sheriff and three men were found earlier today meeting this description, so I don't know what the story is here. I hope they were found and this is a mis-communication thing. Let me know Steph. Hope to see you down in CB!

And, just go off the phone with Routt S&R and they found them around 9 PM. Good on S&R on this one and the Routt pow riders club! I'm sure glad I don't have to go stumbling around down there now!

Talked to friends

Talked with friends yes the group of three found around 9pm was madmark and his group. Glad that they got out so soon. I bet 5 hr. in dark is still a long time to wait Just think they could have been out for 12 more hr's.

Thanks Paul for all the updates
Steph
