three men and a helicopter oh a not so frozen lake

Went up to w&a yesterday and witnessed something you just don't see everyday. We went down to the first lake and started to tear it up and happened to notice a handle bar and a ski tip sticking out of the lake. Back to tearing it up for a while and we notice a helicopter circleing. Make are way back to the lake and three guys with axes are chopping the sled out of the lake. They hook the sled to the chopper and he pulls it out and to the shore. Very impressive job done by all. I know there were pics taken.by the crew that got it out. My camera battery went dead, it was in my outer pocket at a 5 degrees and a wind chill of god knows what a battery just dosnt last very long.

Lake sled

Sounds like someone started the season off good, i had a buddy do the same thing up at bear paw a couple of years ago, the whole front of sled was under water up to the handlebars it took five of us to pull it out backwards, how where the conditions at AW did they get the sled to start up or fly it down to the trailer.

The conditions were great, once you got down to the lake. Still alot of rocks and stumps showing there ugly side but if you stayed away from those it was all good. The trail out was kind of messed up, it needs the snow were getting now to be able to get in and out again. They flew the sled out. The guys that cut it out of the ice walked in from the start of the creek, they didnt what to chance the trail to get out.

yeah no doubt. where's the photo. nobody drops a cooooool G for a helicopter ride without a photo or 3:camera:
