thoughts on OEM polaris skid plate

I just bought the OEM polaris skid plate, who has one and how do you like it?

I know this is kinda backwards but I just didn't like the looks of the float plate, not to mention the OEM polaris skid plate is cheap

How is the OEM skid plate cheap? Quality prodct IMO

i meant cheaper in price

I only paid 74.75 for the pure polaris....

sounds like you like your OEM plate, thats good. I think I will be happy with it too.

okay my fault. ya they are cheap and do the job well. you will be happy

X2. I like mine. I have a bad habit of hitting nasty rocks and stumps, and my OEM skid plate has never failed me. I accidently parked my PRO on top of a Volkswagon-sized rock last year. The skid plate took the full impact and my sled was none the worse off.

As good as any OEM plate ever made, good fit, simple, good protection, easy install, fair price, no snow buildup. People look for different things in plates - doo offers at least 4 different styles for the XP, all around, this poo plate is a keeper.

I picked the OEM cause it looked simple enough to do the job well and was priced right. Haven't had to test it out yet, hope I never do, but damn the PacNW is full of stumps so sure I'll get my turn soon enough.

Stock one here also.
Price is right and looks like it will do its job.

THIS!

It doesn't extend out too far so it does not hinder carving/sidehilling like the aftermarket ones will. For once the OEM product is the best product!

Have FUN!

I prefer the skinz float plate. WAY more protection. It covers all the inside a arm mounts and that is exactly where I hit a rock with my 07 dragon and bent the tunnel. If I would have had a float plate on, no harm no foul. Ran one ever since. Just put one on my 13 and they are even easier to install now too! Pre drilled holes in plate to match up with existing rivets in sled so no more trying to center it yourself!:face-icon-small-hap

Just installed mine last night and they fit pretty good, I take a heat gun to the front so it conforms to the belly pan a bit better before I rivet it up. They work good though

Not to get off topic but... I also picked up a polaris oem skidplate for my PRO at haydays but it didnt have any rivets with it.

Can anyone tell me what size the factory provided rivets are? (length and diameter)

Thanks.
