Of the top 10 cable news shows, Fox OWNS 6 of them.
They (the liberal media) may call O'Reilly, Hannity and Beck right wing nut jobs, but they are VERY successful and the bottom dollar is just that. The bottom dollar.
When loads of people watch, you get to charge more for advertising.
When no-one watches, you get no revenue from advertising.
That is why MSNBC and CNN are rapidly going broke.

Broke?? Naw they will just get a bailout from the government ... Don't worry they will still be just as objective in their coverage. CNN will have to change its name to state channel 1 and MSNBC will be state channel 2. Then the government will put a huge tax for advertising on TV so Fox will go down and they will point and laugh.

I'm sure this is far fetched......

It's not far fetched at all. Thanks to many years of Liberal leadership in Canada, we have 1 real news network: CBC. (that's Canadian Broadcast Corp....goverment operated)

True...BO wouldn't let them go down since they report what he wants them too, not what is legitimate news...aka Acorn

Damn that is scary!

Not so sure Ollie....you mentioned this before...if we still had capitalism it would happen....not during the reign of our dictator Obama.

.

But heres the thing.
6 months ago we would have already seen obamacare passed.
Look at the house.
Palosi was able to ram obamacare and cap-and-trade thru without a problem.
Then august hit and the town halls hit.
How there is no way either obamacare or cap-and-trade would get thru.

Why?

Politicians (both parties) aren't stupid. They know a but whooping when they see it. They know that what they are engaged in right now is nothing more than political postering trying to set themselves up for the 2010 election.
The dems at the forfront of both debates are either so sure they will get re-elected or not up for re-election. The iffy dems are running for their political lives.

Same with the media.
They know they have pizzed off the general public BAD. So do their sponcers. Viewership is tanking at all major networks. most people still get their news from the major networks (ABC, NBC and CBS), however that trend is changing and it is changing FAST. With cable being so prevalent these days the major networks are seeing their viewers going to cable news orgs such as FOX.

MSNBC is on the verge of being shut down because they arn't making money.
A year ago MSNBC was going gangbusters and they signed major dollar contracts with some of the most liberal broadcasters on the air. Now they are having a hard time making payroll.

The major news networks are looking at FOX and they know if they want to survive they will have to compete with FOX.
How do you do that?
YOu start putting out information that people want and in a format people will listen too and they know their current left leaning news broadcasts are turning people off.

Put that with the fact that most people no longer trust the major news outlets to either tell the truth, report the actual facts or do it in a non-biased fashion and they are in trouble. They will either change or go under.

There is no way on the face of the earth that bo or the dems will be able to bail out any news org. They already tried that with the newspapers and it blew up in their faces. They arn't so stupid as to try and openly support the news orgs proping them up.

Oh and MPS, it's not capitalism they are scared of.
It's the number of guns and ammo that has been sold in the last year.

I have a feeling that in the last 2 months the liberals have pushed so hard that they have awakened a sleeping giant. First it was cap and trade, then health care now its EVERYTHING. I felt badly that I couldn't go to the march on Washington but lo and behold I wasn't needed. THE SHEEP ARE TALKING BACK.

Heres an article about newspaper bailouts.

Obama open to newspaper bailout bill
By Michael O'Brien - 09/20/09 04:24 PM ET
The president said he is "happy to look at" bills before Congress that would give struggling news organizations tax breaks if they were to restructure as nonprofit businesses.

"I haven't seen detailed proposals yet, but I'll be happy to look at them," Obama told the editors of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette and Toledo Blade in an interview.

Sen. Ben Cardin (D-Md.) has introduced S. 673, the so-called "Newspaper Revitalization Act," that would give outlets tax deals if they were to restructure as 501(c)(3) corporations. That bill has so far attracted one cosponsor, Cardin's Maryland colleague Sen. Barbara Mikulski (D).

White House Press Secretary Robert Gibbs had played down the possibility of government assistance for news organizations, which have been hit by an economic downturn and dwindling ad revenue.

In early May, Gibbs said that while he hadn't asked the president specifically about bailout options for newspapers, "I don't know what, in all honesty, government can do about it."

Obama said that good journalism is "critical to the health of our democracy," but expressed concern toward growing tends in reporting -- especially on political blogs, from which a groundswell of support for his campaign emerged during the presidential election.

"I am concerned that if the direction of the news is all blogosphere, all opinions, with no serious fact-checking, no serious attempts to put stories in context, that what you will end up getting is people shouting at each other across the void but not a lot of mutual understanding," he said.

GE is trying to dump NBC as a money pit.
NBC has lost SO much in the ratings that GE wants OUT.

They can't dump them soon enough for me. would you imagine Rachel Maddow was on Meet the Press this morning? That has gone to crap too.
