I'm getting really antsy for some snow so I can get out and ride through that "Break-in" tank ASAP... But honestly, not getting any snow yet should make for a more stable snowpack.
Usually it snows 1 or 2 big dumps in late October, then it gets warm and it all goes to faceted **** through the heat/cold cycles as fall turns to winter and that becomes the bottom layer that the rest of the snowpack sits on. This year we may actually have a shot at it snowing and staying cold and then continuing to snow with cold temps the whole way through January. If my "sciencing" is correct, we'll have a good consolidated base to work with. Maybe we'll even skip the dreaded February thaw that seems to happen.
Hopefully the pattern changes soon and it stays cold while we get a nice flow of moisture so we can at least get out and work off a little turkey dinner.
