I want to try it! I've heard once you ride one, it's hard to go back to a sled.
For some.....not all. I have seen them run and they still don't peak my interest. Great setup for those who big into MX and want dual modality. Definitely not a replacement to a sled. Especially when the snow gets DEEP! 18" plus
less loss through the drive system on this kit for sure. I have ridden the A/D Boivin kit and there were 2 major problems. 1. 450 does not make enough power at 8000 plus feet i could never get it out of 3rd and on a hill most of the time you were in first.
2. all of these bikes where carbed and they kept freezing up so you spend more time trying to thaw than you did riding.
most mx bikes in the last 2 years have switched to EFI so maybe that will not be an issue any more. Either way this timbersled kit looks far lighter and better engineered so it will be fun to see how they go in the deep around 10k.
It does look super cool and would super fun in the right place and time, but where they were sidehilling through those steep tree's.... I'd be ridin circles around them and leaving them in the dust!
A 121"x12"x2" track is hardly a mountain track! If you know what I mean!![]()
