nice stuff sled...gets your heart pounding with them bears huh?..what did his skull measure? I took a 5 yr old that squared 9-2..he made #51 in sci in 2000..what a rush...

Makes the urine flow for sure, accidently snuck up on him. I knew there was a dead moose down by the creek that morn and my attention was on the roaring bugling elk. I glassed it at first light and saw nothing at the kill site, I figured it out after the grizz was laying right on the kill and I didnt know it........

lol..have had a few run ins with them over the years..one trashed my trapping cabin a few weeks ago..my big bear I got about 6 miles from my cabin on a spring hunt..rode up over a small hill to glass and just as my ski's came to the top there was the bear about 10 ft in front of me..don't know which of us chit first..but it was an anxious moment for sure....

Yaeh this guy actually had 2 beef cows and a moose down in a 1-1/2 mile radius. I do most of my hunting in a grazing lease so there is quite the smorg for grizzlies in that area.................

here's a few foxes and wolves I took back a few years ago....the black lab is an average male for size comparison...... red shop truck 069.jpg

LOL that's funny 1 fresh from the den and 1 fresh from the womb? 5'5" male, must have been his first and he was excited? 9'2" that is an awesome bear!! The skull in the 1 in my pic went 23-3/8". I turned that bear over to the department of conservation.

did you get yours scored after it dried? mine went 23 11/16 after a heat dry(really shrinks em)the bioligist kept insisting it was way to big to be griz(figured it was a brownie).until I unrolled it and they could see all the blond on his back...wish I could have got him when he was 8-9 yrs old..biologist figured he went 1100 to 1200 pds in late fall...and yes was my buddies first...was funny as heck when he rode up with it in the sled and then saw mine...

Measurement was green scored as it was checked over by conservation officer. Never did hear anything about the bear later on. Aparently fetched $2500 dollars at an auction the following spring. Any Grizz shot in self defense with out pemit or limited entry draw is automatic confiscation by the ministry of environment. Grizz are considered endangered species here in BC...

yea, I know most places are pretty hard on bear hunters..up here all you need is a $25 bear stamp with a hunting license in most area's..at my cabin all you need is a license..they are talking about going to 2 bears a year per person..but I think 1 every couple years are enough for me...I normally take friends out in the spring and let them take em...gonna be hard to top this one so I go for the ride and the veiws...lol..and as backup of course..its amazing how many guys cant hit anything when its a bear staring back....

Man you guys are killing me with the big grizzlies. Ive been wanting to plan a good grizz hunt for a few years now. Here in Wyoming only have black bears that are around 300lbs. A few have been killed up to 600 but not often. How hard is it to get a good hunt in for an out a stater. Like to kill a wolf as well. Just opened for them this year here.

lol..well I spent the first 5 yrs riding in an area overrun with wolves..average of 4000 miles a season..and never saw 1 wolf..then figured out how to find em and been a blast ever since..still rare you get close enough to get a shot..I have two I got at less then 30 ft..and two that were just over 600 yrd on my rangefinder....its all hit and miss...best hunt yet for me is spring grizz hunts...on sleds , sunny, warm,,deep snow and guns....yea.

Just curious why this post is in swapmeet.
Were you selling some hides or some mounts?

Great pics anyway, I have stuffed some BEAVERS that were off the charts also.....:D:beer;
