I think this is bull crap a group from Texas with no respect for officers who died in the line of duty. we use crosses to symbolize the soldiers who died and these atheist pieces of crap aren't attacking those! This pisses me off. We cant get our land back to ride on but 3 atheists can get crosses removed for offending them. Our judicial system is total BS and a joke!

Maybe instead of a cross, they could hang a sign off the cross member and say it's a structural coincidence. Lucking Fiberals!!

Amen Brother! Its time the majority starts standing up against the minority again in this country! If the courts don't overturn this BS decision I would gladdly buy the land the memorials are on and make them private property then there would be no worries!

I heard this on the radio and was pissed when I heard it. It is a sad that here in America people can't be reconized for there "Protect and Serve" work. These men died in the line of duty and we can't even put up a flippin cross to memoralize the work that these men and women did to help keep us safe in our community.

piss on the atheists, actually no they aren't even worth that.

To the point of people "the majority" standing up to "the minority", the constitution was created so the the will of the people would be honored without trampling the rights of the voting minority.

This situation with the cross has nothing to do with that, nor does it have anything to do with a separation of church and state. These monuments are placed to honor officers who have fallen in the line of service, the cross is a reflection of the particular officers faith, not that of the department or the state.

Someone driving by and being offended by another persons choice of faith is beyond rediculous, I'm just not sure why any judiciary can't understand the difference.

This issue stems directly from seperation of church and state. The "Crosses" are on STATE land. That is where they (The A holes) got their foothold in the courts. My point is that if the state legislature sold off the property for say ten bucks per memorial on a 100 year lease or something similar, this issue would never see the courts again. If the minority got this far, do you think they will stop before they have all the crosses in Arlington pulled and changed out for something non denominational?

The thing I have the hardest time understanding is why the judicial system doesn't understanding the first amendment and its relation to religion.

All it really takes in one activist judge to set precedent, and then every moron thereafter simply refers to that ruling in deciding their case. I still don't see this as a violation of the first amendment, as it is a memorial to the fallen officer, not the promotion of a particular religion.

This is a case of a memorial to the officer's sacrifice, I don't see this as the promotion of a particular religion.

What if one of the fallen men woorshiped the Devil...and wanted to have a pentagram erected or better yet the same cross positioned up side down.

This would be perfectly fine yes?

I can't see a reason it would be any more or less offensive than a cross, the star of david or any other religious symbol. Although it does raise an interesting question: do good devil worshipers end up in heaven with the enemy, or do they get a special place in hell?

Do a Memorial, just not using a cross, problem solved!! Is that all we do is ***** in this country??

Btw, in other countries, you would loose your hands for stealing!! :face-icon-small-sho

I agree with this but the memorials where paid for by the fallen officers family. But my thing is. How does 3 atheist members from a corporation (not a church anyone noticed that) make such a fuss and get things done but we fight for our land and nothing happens. My point is if they do this its like the tree huggers it snowballs into bigger things like fallen soldiers memorials (that use crosses) to churches having crosses on them, down to jewelry of crosses. Sorry cant where that your preaching your religion to me........ our society sucks!

1. I do realize this crap goes on THIS THRED WAS TO INFORM PEOPLE WHO DIDNT KNOW WHAT WAS GOING ON.

2. I ask this cause I can. I do live in the united states and all? Also I donate to many causes Land use, NRA and others to help the fight. I was at the atv rally where You?

3. Why do I care? Why dont you care? I may not like the way some cops do things but I respect them all for what they do! I have many friends in UHP and other law enforcement. My wife is POST cert. and was going to be a officer.
I can hate people for stupid things but if they stand up and put there lives on the line for me I WILL RESPECT THEM! This to me is a matter of respect for someone who died trying to support his family a family that was left behind. HOW PISSED WOULD YOU BE IF SOMEONE IN YOUR FAMILY WAS SUDDENLY KILLED AT WORK. SO YOU PUT UP A MEMORIAL FOR THEM TO HAVE IT RIPPED DOWN BY SOME SELF RIGHTEOUS GROUP. TO ME THIS IS A MATTER OF RESPECT FOR PEOPLE WHO DIDN'T NEED TO DIE. Thats why I posted this so we could all see why we need to fight for our right to do what we love where we love IN A FREE COUNTRY!

You see, thats the problem. If I die at work, no one would give a ****. But if a cop or a firefighter or any other government employee dies, oh, we have to put up a memorial. I am pretty much sick of these government employees who want all this sympathy for doing their job!! Btw, my dad is a retired firefighter.

And your definitely entitled to your opinion!! If you haven't noticed, I just don't like you!! :)
