im just gunna start off by sayin i ride cat haha, friend of mine has pro rmk, i jumped on it and thought it felt very similar to my m8, just a couple ?s....has it lived up tp the hype? anyone felt a serious difference when jumping from a diff sled to a pro? thanks

2008 M8 to a new RMK was a very easy change. That sled is just all around beautiful. Feels weird to ride my crossfire now though

the harder you ride the pro.the more it out performs other sleds from what I have seen and felt....I stepped off a dragon onto it so that was pretty simple, but it does stuff the dragon couldnt, sidehilling is so much more responsive and controlled, climbing is just nuts..where I would be turning out on the dragon and almost stuck.....the pro is still churning and going..and keeps going....and its very very quick...for being the lowest powered sled out there..

The more time you spend on your buddy's Pro, the clearer the differences will become - whether you feel them to be better or not as good. I've ridden both good and poor set up M Cats and a good one feels like a Dragon for the most part. Coming off a Raw chassis, there are a lot of positives for the Pro. In order to have more climbing control, you trade off the wheely happy IQ stuff so that takes a little time to get used to. The one huge difference that hardly anyone talks about is how freakin' easy it is to get "unaugured." This is probably due to the light weight and really narrow body panels. It really saves energy and lets you play a lot longer without feeling whipped.

Exactly as I would put it. After a hard days ride I am not near as wore out as I was when riding my 08 rmk.

M8 to a dragon 8 felt alot the same for me. If polaris went out of business the cat would be my next choice and it wouldn't take long to get used to it. The biggest difference between sled brands would be Doo to Polaris. I don't know how those Doo guys side hill a rev or XP chassis. My friend on a rev ALWAYS seems to have to work harder to place his sled where we want to go. To answer your question about the hype, I think the biggest news about the pro before it hit the snow was the weight loss. That wasn't hype, just facts. There were no claims to big hp, and the IQ chassis was a proven sled in mountain handling. The "hype" has come once the snow hit and owners started reporting how happy they are with it's abilities. So, that's not hype either, but opinions that are backed up over and over.

For me the Pro was what I needed to better my skills at tree riding. It does it effortlessly and stays in control at all times, it's hard for some of my buddies to keep up with me on sidehills through the trees cause this sled will hold a line so well while the Cats are trying to wash out. I can think of 2 guys on Cats now that if Arctic Cat doesn't release something equal or better then the Pro they will be riding one next year. Polaris did an incredible job with this sled and it makes you a much better rider in technical situations.

IMO, The pro doesnt shine hill climbing, But it also doesnt fall behind at all. Riding trees and boondocking are a complete blast on the pro and your not whore out at the end of the day. "I have noticed when side hilling it the track want to wash out bad. Right when i get on the throtel the track starts sliding down hill and I have to let off alittle to prevent from a total wash out. Anyone else noticed this? it seems to me like the ski is plowing into the hill so hard creating drag so the only place for the track to go is down hill. My front suspention is pretty stiff curious to see if a loosen them up if the ski will float on top of the snow instead of digging in.

can you tighten the center shock to create more of a pivot point there?

I have noticed this too. (Previous sled was 07 M8) I have found that if you put your foot farther forward on the board, it doesn't do this. Just a little bit different positioning than the CAT. Have to leave some old habits behind.

thanks guys very much appreciated...gunna have to throw my .02 when i ride it in the hills this flatland stuff just doesnt cut it anymore

I find this especially true when "Fred Flintstoning," a rearward foot position pops the front end up too easily. With both feet as far forward as I can get them on the running boards, it sidehills straight as a bullet.

i noticed this when riding 4 foot of fresh, on my M the deeper it got the farther rearward i would place my feet to keep the front from dragging and to keep floating. on the pro the deeper it gets the more the REAR sinks so you have to move farther forward to keep the front end down, SWEET!!!!

any other cat converts notice how little drag this sled has when riding the deep??? know my cat felt like you had the brake on partially when it got deep, don't get that feeling at all with the pro... would imagine most of it has to do with how well the front floats and how narrow it is.

i had this problem on my iq with the back washinging out like you guys are saying i put my ski-s in the narrowest position and no more washing out didnt think that little change would make such a difference but it did. Maybe something you guys could try

I love my new pro. I was riding an 07 685 from carl's and the transition was very easy. The pro is so flickable. Way easier then my 685 which is easier then the 800's. It was awesome to go riding with a buddy this last weekend who is a better rider and be able to climb out of a hole 5 times before he made it out once. He rides an 09 800 and couldn't even cheat by track poaching and hold the same line. Worth every penny I spent!!
