As a former hockey player, and a dude who just likes scenery, that is just phenomenal. I used to have dreams like that as a kid, just being able to skate for miles on end.

I usually get ice like that here for a while. It's after it snows a bunch that it screws up the ice. The weight of the snow sags the ice, it cracks, it lets in a bunch of water, the snow and water turns to slush, then it all refreezes and becomes white and bumpy.

dang..probably..??..but it don;t happen like that in front of my place...Windy Arm gets powerful winds and thats what peel what little snow we have so far this year

It's hard to find ice like that. Our local reservoir did that last year. For the heck of it I chucked a golf ball over it. The ball went all the way across the lake. I couldnt have hit two drivers as far as I threw it. Cool vids.

thats super cool, expierenced that once when i was 17, you could seen fish swimming underneath the ice it was so clear.... had about 5" of ice. it is kinda creepy though not gonna lie......that one guy in the second vid has some seriously good hands though, mega dangles!!!!!

That is awesome there is nothing more pure than playing on ice that looks like that. I am jealous. Chalk another one up for the northland, if i ever went up there I am sure there is no way I would leave. prob why the wife won't let me.

the ice was still clear this past weekend..a fella from work went skating with his buds..he said it was really neat close to shore and seeing all the boulder effect on the lake bottom..

That would be kinda weird with it being clear like that. I dont like being on a iced over lake as is. Its just one of those things that freaks me out. but that is a awesome vid.
