thinking out loud about the downfall of my country

I have spent a bit o time trying to figure where it all went bad around here. I can see some possibilities for a turn around w/o giving away dollar amounts that I have to count the zeros on and try and figure out what that value is...I think history might be worth looking at.

resource spending would be the smartest thing. it spends money here on wages, transportation, then it goes to the mills which sees more labor and consumables.....followed by more transportation. tap into some of our own oil and we could get on top of this thin in a hurry.

as long as we can't log, mine and use our own oil we are gonna be at everyone elses mercy.

it's time we come to grips with the fact that we either need to live in smaller more efficient houses and share them with our families or actually log a mountain and process that timber here........or mine ore.......or we can buy foreign materials and go further down the tube.

living smack dab in the middle of logging and mining communities I can tell you that a mill worker used to be common and well paid here. now you can't work with your hands and still live in coeur d' alene. the mills are closed, mining is all but dead, our local lumber stores are loade with wood from canada, but not the us. now the large tech companies are laying off workers and they only have skills to do things that chineese and indian workers can and will do for 1/100th the wage.......they are not gonna come here and log idaho.

we spent a great many years as a self reliant and self servant country with high levels of export. the technology explosion made many very wealthy but, like boots and calculators the chineese have learned how to build what we build and make it functional for way less.......we need to stop that.

if obama wants to tax something, hows about a huge import tax.

They have moved most of our manufacturing out of country.
We import EVERYTHING.
As long as Dems have their Tax and spend mentality, it is going to continue to go down hill. When a company has to move out of the country to escape the taxes and high cost restrictions, it's time to start looking at what is going on.

It's all it.
Mining
Logging
Machine work
processing
textile
Tech. companies

Every segment of our country is being outsourced.
Until the media wakes up and starts doing their constitutional duty to actually inform the masses, we won't be able to FORCE politicians to do the right thing.
This isn't a Dem vs. Republican thing. Both parties have been doing it. THe Dems with taxes and restrictions, the Republicans with their exporting democracy (which means our jobs).
It has to stop.
They have to get immigration under control and get americans back to work. Contrary to popular belief. It is NOT the governments job to put you to work. It is the governments job to get out of the way and allow you to get work.

The latest I heard is the governments job is to print mass amounts of money to hand out to worthless companies and devalue our dollar until it's useless.

I was brought up to believe that the only real money (first dollar money) comes out of the ground.
1. mining, raw materials etc
2. oil and gas and sun and wind energy
3. timber and lumber products etc
4. farming, grass, cattle, crops, etc
The benefits from these I call first dollar money. From here on the dollar turns over 7 times, producers, factories, services, packaging. shipping. transportation etc. The 7th depository ( through taxes ) is the government. The government can print money but they can not generate or earn it.
Now then you see that no way in hell can the government create jobs. I rest my case. Wolfrun

Having been around for quite a few years I can remember the late sixties and into the seventies when we were stuck with Johnson,Nixon and the worthless one Carter. That was the the popular thing, stock up dried food from various purveyors and gather up all the arms and ammo for the coming disaster. Funny thing happened in 1980, Reagan was elected and a bunch of liberal democrats were thrown out of the congress and by 82 one of the greatest expansions of the american economy beganh actually lasted to less than a year ago. Don't give up on the real american people yet. With that in mind I finally got my concealed carry permit last week. Swampy:eek::D:beer;

get your food storage, theres nothing we can do now but be prepared for whats coming.
