Thinking of shedding weight opinions.

I am contemplating dropping some serious weight on my phazer, I want to install the timbersled rear suspension with fox floats along with putting some floats up front. I already dropped ten pounds and with this my wet weight would be 539 pounds. I've never made this big of a weight drop before...so how much of a improved ride would this provide? I have a floatplate, (with foam between machine and plate to prevent ice build up) a skinz ultra q, and removed some useless parts.

Dropping weight is smart thing to do. You will have an easier time moving your sled around throughout the day, which equals less overall rider fatigue.

However try and be smart with your weight loss and try to maintain your sleds balance in the meantime. In other words drop weight where it needs to come off first (i.e. the heavier areas of the sled). I am not familiar with the Phazer, but if they are front heavy, then get it off the front first.

In thinking about the Phazer and all its components, I think shedding 50lbs is a reality. However, it will cost you unless you find stuff used and cheap.

Here is a potential weight loss list:
Battery
seat
Front and rear suspension
shocks
Exhaust

Adding a turbo will greatly improve your power to weight ratio. However, its all in what you want.

good luck
