Thinking of selling 07 Ram 5.9

Man times are tough, no work for a general contractor, and really nothing in the honest job market.
I'm thinking of selling my 07 Ram 3500 single rear wheel quad cab, short bed, 4x4, big horn with leather. 41k miles on the clock and has an aftermarket steering brace.
Truck drives like a dream, never any problems, has all the updated steering parts, and 50% rubber. Never any accidents, and exterior has 1 scratch from a gate that closed on the bed side.
KBB says 27k, what do you guys think an honest price is on a rig like this?

I don't need to sell, but I'm thinking I could lose the $430 payment, and pick up an older rig for my equity cash (loan on this truck is $12k payoff) and not have to worry about full insurance. There are alot of nice older trucks avail today.
My wife has an 08 infiniti and my payment on that SOB with insurance is almost $800 month. I don't see an easy way out of that vehicle as according to KBB I'm $2k ahead but I think market value on a luxury car is DOWN. I'd love to jump out of this and put her in a 5 year old luxury car but she likes it, and the car really is in showroom condition with under 30k miles.

Anyway back to the truck, what can I expect? Any suggestions?
thanks

I forgot to mention, that I might try and trade with somebody that has an older truck looking to upgrade and take the payments off my hands. I might have a better chance of getting a 1 owner truck doing it this way.

Put it on www.cumminsforum.com or www.dieseltruckresource.com

You could sell it quick on there.

I would think you could sell it very quickly for $25K. If you want to sit on it for a while, you might get $27-28k for it

For reference, almost 2 years ago I bought my 03 Laramie Cummins with 57k miles and every option (nav, leather, heated seats, plus extras like AMP steps, Kore Lift) for $22.5k.

Just a reference.

However, that is great truck and its tough to find something nice for $10-12k. Maybe like an 02 Chevy 1/2 ton extra cab with descent miles?

I would keep the Dodge and get rid of the Infiniti I guess. Thats almost twice the payment and even if you only break even it would be easy to get something with a lower payment.

I sold an 07 Dodge Cummins Bighorn 5.9 Crew Cab Longbox with a six speed less then a year ago for $28,000 with only 19,000 miles. It didn't last long on here. Very sought out truck right now due to the pre-emission engine I don't think it would last long for sale.

I agree with Glenn, Keep the Dodge and sell the Infinity.

Post Pix of it!!!

Last great dodge year IMO, Keep it :face-icon-small-coo

Thats why I bought it, I traded an 05 cummins in on it just to get the last year.
I was making great money then and the trade was great, the new buy price was great, and the tax benefit was great.
I used to tow my dump trailer at least 2 times a week, which gets into the 7000# range, and used to drive 100 miles a day from job to job.
Now I tow my snowmobile trailer, (nice to have the cummins) but other than that it's a grocery getter or a home depot runner.

I had an 01 psd, and it was a great motor, I know see the 97-2002 5.9 cummins going in the $8-$15k range. You can be picky with these trucks as a handful of guys pampered them. You can get a great buy on a fully loaded leathered up quad cab.
I've even thought of going after a late model 05+ 3/4 ton gasser as I feel that I can buy one loaded up for $15-20k. I've had oil burners for 10 years now and just don't know if I can adapt.

This is the only pic I've got, but it is doing one of the jobs that it does best.

SOB,
I just got the paperwork from a guy in wisconsin. Made me an offer of $27k and I bit.

I'm going to cry!!!!!

Going to look at a 2000 Ford f250 superduty that has 48k miles on it. 4x4 supercab, long bed, leer shell, carpet kit, new tires, no leather but power seats. The only drawback is it's a v10. He wants 11,400 for this rig but I think I can take it for 10k.

I'm a diesel fan and make my living selling diesels. But I have to admit, that Ford V10 is a pretty darn good engine. If you can live with the cruddy gas mileage I think you'd be happy with that thing. We have some in our shop trucks at work that have beat like a red head step child and they still run strong. Good luck

Sounds like you got a killer price for your diesel and this gasser your looking at sounds like a good deal also.... walking away with no more truck payment and cheaper insurance in the process... a win/win in this economy:beer;

48K on a 2000... dang, that thing must be cherry:face-icon-small-sho:face-icon-small-hap I too have heard lots of good things about the V-10s

Well,
I'm not out yet!
I've decided to find a Diesel, as I can't wrap my head around a gasser.
I'm looking for a 7.3 with under 100k. Found a 6.0 with 90k and a shell, very clean for $16k but could probably take it for $14k. There are dozens of 7.3, 5.9, 6.0 with 100+ miles.
I found a beauty 02 7.3 lariat with 70k miles and a handshaker but the guy want $21k (way too much).
Keep your eyes peeled!!!!!!!!!!!!
