Thinking of going to Monte Cristo...

I live in Bountiful, but have never been up to Monte Cristo. I'm thinking of heading up there on Monday. How's the riding up there right now? What's the best way to get there from Centerville? I went up by the "B" today and it was stupid... No snow down at the parking lot and spent half the day getting the truck unstuck after driving up the road, it was just an inch of snow on ice. I need some riding that will redeem the weekend on President's day...

i was at monte yesterday its rideble but like most places in nothern end of the state not much snow not much fun

Dont yaknow Monte is for pussies? wink wink. Id get a real lost if I told ya where to go? No sarcasm I suck at GPSing.

I was just up on Monte today. It snowed all day from the time we got there (7:30am) until about 2pm. Maybe another 14" on a decent base. When I say decent I mean decent for this crappy snow year. Lots of good riding at Monte, if you want to get to the good stuff you should probably take someone familiar with the area. The easy places along the main drag get tracked out fast on the weekend because its ultra popular. If you get off the main drag you will find fresh fast and relatively close to parking without trailing it too far. The only problem is when you leave the main drag it gets easy to get lost if you don't know the place. It is that big, you can go anywhere in Northern Utah via the mountains from this place.
From centerville go north on I-15, then west I-84 toward Morgan, take the Mt.Green exit just on the other side of the canyon, North left turn at the gas station up trappers loop, right turn road curves around Pineview Res, then right turn just past Huntsville, go about 15miles to the parking head, pay $5 to park. Don't go on the weekend.

Drive a little farther north and come ride with us. We will be hitting Providence canyon again, or maybe Tony Grove, if I can get out of work early enough.
