Thinking of buying a used ABS Escape 30

Hey looking for some help. Is it a good idea to buy an avy pack used? I can get an Escape 30 for about $500. It has only been worn twice and only had the test fire done on it. Also how is the shovel and probe storage on this pack? Thanks any comments are appreciated.

That's a smoking price. How old is the pack?? 1 year, 2 years?? Regardless I would test fire to make sure it works and be ready to put out some coin for a new canister. better safe then sorry. shovel and probe fit no probs into this pack.

As mentioned; I would perform a test fire to ensure the pack works. After performing the test fire, make sure the canister was punctured in the center of the hole and make sure there are no scuff marks on the canister from the puncture unit pin. If there are scratch/scuff marks from the puncture pin, that means the pin is not lined up correctly.
