Thinking about having a non official hillclimb in South East Idaho

I was wondering if a group of guys got together and planned a unofficial hill climb in South East Idaho next winter who would all show up? It would be on a weekend and be somewere like Caribou or Red Butte area. Nothing extreme just a whole bunch of guys racing up a hill and we could do drag races and best time races. It would be like the big Iron shoot out but smaller and in Idaho. I would probally even bring my son and let him and the other little guys battle it out on snoscoots and 120's. We could even do half a hr in the morning for the ladies. If this was to be planned who would all show up? Is there any legal or reliabilties with something like this? Just thought of it. Please post your comments.

I would be there. It would be interesting to see the Pebble Creek race come back on the radar screen. Don't know about the legal details of it all. I think if you just did a word-of-mouth run what you brung event w/ no money or sponsors you probably wouldn't have to worry about anything. I guess it would be a good idea not to have it on the same weekend as a sanctioned race. Get better turnout that way??

I am thinking probally doing it end of December or begining of January. Probally go to caribou, Kilgore or Palisades area. I am wanting to bring my son so we can have a kiddie hill drag. If you all came would you bring your kids or would it be a man event?

That would be awsome! A good way to compete without the danger of actuall hillclimb events! I think the kid idea is fun; never heard of anything like it.

If anyone is wondering about what this could potentially be, go and watch Alticity 4. They have a section in there that highlights exactly what kind of event this could end up being. Not a huge hill, but enough to give you a challenge. Put a few sticks with bright pieces fabrics as gates to make a course, get a couple stop watches, and thats about all you need besides riders. I think it would be fun even if there wasn't that many people that show up.
