Things that make you think about life

Today a younger boy was hit by a car by my old house and Kims house. I knew the family of the boy and the person who hit him. He was life flighted and we are still waiting on how he is doing. Makes me think about my boys and how we can never forget to love the ones around us. My prayers go out to the boy and his family and to the family of the person driving. Very sad day. :face-icon-small-sad

Yep love your kids........the unexpected can happen any time. Just like was mentioned in the proud parents thread.......don't let them ever question whether you love them or not. SAY IT OFTEN, SHOW IT OFTEN.
Tomorrow is not given to anybody.

Sad for the families. God bless a good outcome!

Sad ordeal for sure! I was very worried last night, as this young boy is 12 years old, the same age as my son. Even though my son was home, I currently coach his football team, and have coached many other teams, so I was worried it was one of my boys! Regardless, it is a sad and hard situation.

One of my best friends just lost her son last month. He was the 19 year old who drown in Tony Grove Lake. I spent some time with her last week, and have never seen anyone in such agony!

Love your kids!

I understand she hasn't had an easy go in life in general....and this has been very devastating for her! Hopefully, the kid will pull through. But, severe head injuries are typically causes for major disability. :(

The lady is a very nice person always used to say hello to me as her and her daughter would pass by me when I was in the front yard. Sounds like she is having and extremely hard time with this and is almost at a mental break. In talking with my mother-in-law who is in the Relief Society and was at the hospital almost all night. The boy is blind in one eye and is in an induced coma to drain fluid from the brain. He broke no bones or any other injuries besides his head. Again prayers go out to both families.

Kim you know I thought of Jake when I heard this then I missed your call today I was freaking out. I'm such a pessimist. I'm damn glad it wasn't Jake but very sad to hear none the less.

That is so sad to hear things like That I can’t imagine losing your child like that. My heart goes out to them. :rose:

Yeah we where at the in-laws last night when my mother in law got the call then my mother told us the day before when she was up there they had told them they had the decision. I couldn't imagine that it would kill me.

My heart goes out to the family it will be a very hard next couple of months.

Also Ksl still stated she hit him when in fact he did hit her as she was already in the crosswalk when he rode across and hit the side of her car. all the damage to her car shows that. It is a very very dark intersection and needs a light for the cross walks. the lady is still very torn about the situation.

This makes you think about having your kids wear helmets. My parents stressed it huge with me and I can count how many time my helmet saved my life in both bmx and motocross. I see people riding everything from sleds to bullet bikes with out them but come on guys is it worth the risk. I admit I don't always when I should, I keep a red carbon fly helmet that was only worn once as a reminder. That day at rad canyon BMX I took a very similar fall as this boy and I will never forget it for the rest of my life. Please everyone where your helmets.

I went to school with him since elementary school. I was never great friends with him just saw him at parties and he hung out with some of my friends. We got a long and never had a problem with eachother he was such a good kid. One of the nicest I've ever met. I was up in Bear Lake two days before that incident and he was staying at the same cabin with all of our friends. very sad day.

RIP. Best wishes go out to the Family!

RIP to John Doucette....my friend's son! :brokenheart:

Also, Heart felt sorrow to the family of the boy for whom this thread was started, Jacob Park. Much of his extended family are my neighbors and close friends, which I was unaware of the relationship until last week. He was taken off life support Sunday and passed away. Love your children, tell them often, and don't take time with them for granted. :brokenheart:
