Know I'm just stating the obvious here but on my yz450 several rides w no t stat no engine cover, ran great but oil was dark thin and smelled like gas.
Put a t bob on it. Just changed the oil after 1 days ride, 2 tanks of gas thru it and the oil was much lighter cleaner colored and little to no fuel. Viscosity looked the same as new oil.
Just on color alone I believe there is less engine wear and certainly less to no overfueling.
