There ought to be..

I was watching a couple of neighborhood kids riding their snowmobile around and eventually they had a stuck, it's an old doo of some kind and they got it into an odd angle in a ditch and it wouldnt fire.

What I'm getting at is... I could see it coming from a mile away, the ol yank on the start wire as hard as you can and your poor sister is right at the apex of a nice elbow. As many times as I've been stuck, hangin upsidedown in tree voids ect.. I've needed and lent help to get a sled fired and I've been skewered by an elbow a couple of times. I've seen it happen on the big powder days when theres a situation where more than a couple of people are needed to get someone's sled fired back up and some poor sap catches his buddies elbow.
Am I the only witness to this or have any of you caught or given? The poor kid got knocked to the ground, she didnt cry but was definetly pis*ed

Anyone here lost any teeth to this phenomenon? What would you call this unfortunate eventuality of physics?

I had a high school classmate get her eye permently disfigured by the starter handle from her brother.:(

Had a pair of old Skiroule's growing up. Oh yeah, I remember getting beat as a child when I'd get to close to my dad. Also remember putting a wet mitton on top of a spark plug wire when he was pulling the cord to. That was way worse. Or the time my brother got his arse whipped for taking the sled out without permission. My brother and I were riding it around the house and my sister and the neighbor girl were throwing snowballs at us. Brother got clocked in the head and next thing I know were in a Poplar tree. Dad saw the green paint of the snowmobile at the base of the tree with the tracks and the splintered bark and knew right away what happened. He tried to explain that my stupid sister threw snowballs at him and knocked him silly. He got 2 concussions that day.

LOL good story. Was riding down the road on one of those old Honda 50s, I had to fiddle with a couple of wires to keep the thing going and got tagged by the ignition charge. After bailing off the thing and a nice road rash on my forearms and elbows I agree it's worse!

I saw a guy fracture his eye socket when he caught an elbow.......never snowmobiled again. Every time we ask him, he simply "doesn't feel like it". Can't blame him, that had to be extremely painful, and he probably sub-consciously associated it with snowmobiling.

Not smacked in the yap by an elbow, but have done a few good but plants from recoil cords busting while trying to start a unit. Other than that, trying to start a sled when it is squoze between bikes or four wheelers in the shop and hitting the smart part of my elbow on a handle bar, rack, mirror etc... Hitting shelf or objects hanging on the wall of enclosed trailers.
Had one that had a bad set of dogs in the recoil. Sled was running while I was holding the recoil rope half way out when they caught and ripped my hand/arm/shoulder out of socket while ther tried to pull my arm through the recoil rope hole in the bodywork
