the reality of the new xp like it or not

People love to throw around the "12k" thingy. Did anybody really pay $12,000 for an XP? My 154X was $9,900. $150 for clutch parts. Total otd was $10,200. Did anybody get a Dragon 800 that cheap? I've eaten 2 belts and got 2 new ones(the new 377) for free. So i'm still at $10,200.

Same boat for me.

I rode my buddy's 163X the other day for a bit. He rode my M8, and couldn't believe how much easier it was to pull mine into a sidehill. I'm ABSOLUTELY not bashing, just asking: Is there any way to get the XPs to pull over easier? We pulled the sway bar links, but is there anything else? It's a great machine, but just something we were curious about. By the way, his so far, has been absolutely trouble free!

we set the front track shock with 1 1/4" threads showing above the shock...and the front a arm shocks as light as possible.....my 105# grandson can side hill our 154's no problem...try this

where do you buy belts for $62 ???--what year IQ and how did you get it to 521# wet..we pay $165 for the dragon belts...just a couple questions..

I ordered 2 of the Gates 43X4320 belts for my XP @ less than $50 each.
They can't be any worse than the BRP belts, and I'm getting a few hundred miles
out of those. I can live with that cost .

The only reasons I see that people ride other sleds besides the rev/xp are:
1) They dont support a company that wont back its own customers
2) They don't want to have a doo thats always broken down and ruining sled trips like their buddies.
3) Last but not least, people that do not have one, dont wrench aggressive enough to fix the xp's many mounting mechanical failures..

fixed it for ya!

you would not say anything bad after spending 12k

Your probably right, if I would have spent 12k on my sled I'd be pissed if something was wrong. Foratuneantly for me I only spent $9,500 on mine, so I have room to b**ch about the hand warmers. I figured I can live with cold hands for the fun factor of this sled. Thanks for your concern, but I have to get back to fantasy island with all the other XP owners now.

All the posts like this make me <3 my 700 RMK. Gas and go. Fiddling with your sled just so you can have a fun day out is gay.

I'm with you- I just like to gas and go- and that's what I do after my initial
clutch dialing in the stock unit.
After reading this load of crap website I was actually scared of the Doo clutch,
but it is great to be able to adjust the clutch in a couple of minutes for altitude,
belt changes, snow conditions, etc. without major clutch work. I've never adjusted my Polaris clutches, and wouldn't know how. Not an easy option.
This site is like the evening news.
Veery Skeery!

Holy crap dude, my belts for my turbo M are $62 and they are a poo belt. And I bought 2 and got 1 free, but I dont think ill get to use the other 2 :p

My 600'do ain't stock but uses the stock belt, thats the going rate $160-$180 for a new Poo belt....

Its the best mountain sled on the market right now by far. I jump on the old chassis and can't wait to get back on the xp. Yeah its burned up a few belts and yes my hands were freezing for a month. YES that irritated me for sure. It was all worth it. It spanks m 1000's, m8's, dragons. Definately kills stock Yamaha's. The other manufactures rides are old news. I have heard that 2010 polaris is releasing a sled that is very similar to the stealth looking xp. Its about time. mmmmm What will doo have in 2010??? The only reasons I see that people ride other sleds besides the rev/xp are:
1) Loyalty to their fav. Manufacturer
2) They don't want to have a doo like their buddies.
3) Last but not least, people that do not have one, do not ride aggressive enough to care about the xp's abilities.

Too me power to weight with a rider forward motorcross stance is everything.
Way to go doo. Can't wait to see the 09!!!

You forgot #4 most people that don't ride xp's are because they scare the crap out of them ,all that power, and climb way to high ,they just get way to scared , and like you said definately kills stock yamaha's .
Doo has a winner. I will buy one next year for less than any old m7 ,d7, or maybe old poo 900.

Damn Graveler...do you have a crush on the XP or what?? It's getting a little ridiculous. You spend more time posting on XP threads than most people that actually own one. Man up and buy one already instead of making up BS excuses.

just my 2 centson it all. i ride stock 07 M8 and love the fact that its tuff, reliable, cheap to run(never blown a belt switched half way through my 1000 miles, hahaha BRP owners, and regular fuel) i ride the balls off this baby and when the guys around me in there 800R's are all blowing up for various reasons around 1400km. that means my sled would have had to blow up a couple hundred miles ago. it may not be the best but its the best for me im sure i would have crumpled a few bomby's by now. oh and ive never heard such thing as a reliability problem on the M-series yet

what a bunch of fuggin whiners. I'm starting to think the more posts some of you of whiners make is an indication that you've never actually ridden a sled.

I'd a bought a M-series Cat except the reliability worried me- just from experiences of fellow riders, though most were not M- series. No bashing
intended, and I've been wrong more than once.

3) Last but not least, people that do not have one, prefer their lil red wagon of a sled that gets them to the base of the hill...just so they can admire the awesome power and handling of XP's scorching highmarks .....but then it happens....as though it was something else disappearing way up in the sky... they start calling in the UFO sightings....
