Have any of you guys seen this movie? I saw it last week and honestly I thought it was pretty good. The most interesting part for me was the idea of the purge itself.
I'm not going to spoil the movie, but the main idea is that once a year for 12 hours you can do whatever you want. murder, rape, stealing, all that stuff is legal. There are some rules, no fire or certain other big weapons allowed, and you can't go after certain high gov't leaders, but everyone else was free game. According to the movie due to the purge the unemployment rate was at like 1% and criminal activity was suuuuuper low.
So, the point I am making is, would you agree to a purge if it would reduce unemployment to 1% and reduce crime rates country wide?
Essentially in the movie they say that the poor are defenseless and as such they typically are the ones being murdered hence the unemployment rate is so low.
I think this embodies the idea of Darwinism. So, again I am curious, would you agree to such an idea? As a whole me and my friends who watched it totally agreed with it.
