Here is the only reason I look forward to summer. Good times with good friends. Can't beat a ride in the woods on a horse....or a sled.... Both good stuff. Some of the most beautiful country a person will ever see is on a saddle.

Pretty stuff. Any fish in said "hidden lake"?

How the heck did you know the name of the lake? You must be a local. We had no time to fish, but passed a bunch of hikers who said the fishin was weak. Was a great ride and the temp was only 78 at the trailhead, not too shabby. Any day on a horse is well worth the time. And it was a good way to work some fat off my hay burners:D

The moose over the last 6-8 yrs up here seem to be getting fewer and fewer. I don't quite understand it. Not one sign of wildlife today, Must be the MF wolves have all the natives rilled up, and not hanging aroung the usual places.

Bullfrog, your right about the wolves. 2 years ago we had a pack all over us up by Pole Bridge while moose hunting. They were looking for an easy meal, it will be the last time I let loose with an elk bugle up there with witnesses around...

The moose levels have gone down in the last number of years. If that is the Hidden Lake I think it is, you should have crossed through the re***e heading in. If so, most of the moose are out in the willow bog but you can't see them this time of year.

Yes this is Hidden Lake in the Jeddedia Smith Wilderness, and the moose in ? are not just there, I'm talking EVERYWHERE!!! Cave Falls area, Mesa Falls area, IP, Fish Creek, Snow Creek, Coyote Meadows, etc. the list goes on and on.

And yes sledmasterr, Pole Bridge used to be one of my fav hangouts, but that has changed unfortunately.
