The new boss seats...opinions?

You know I'm a mountain mod guy....Protoed the Xp extreme seat all last year....remember?

my 4 year old boss started shredding fabric the second season. not impressed with their "lightweight" fabric of old. I looked at the new one and the fabric was more heavy duty. def worth a few ounces more for fabric that holds up more than a season. Sad that the chinese will probably be better than "American made".

The WRP seat is great, no storage but 100% made in USA and a small tunnel bag is not that pricey and will cary alot more than the Boss will.

"WRP's Mountain ASSAULT™ Seats represent the latest in cost effective snowmobile seat value and performance. Each Mountain ASSAULT Seat And finally, our open-cell seat cushion foam which has been treated with a water resistant barrier coating to resist moisture intrusion and absorption to maintain the seats lightweight characteristics."
features positive attachment to the machine through use of the factory mounting system (no unreliable Velcro or snaps here). Also, each seat's cover is patterned with the most superior upholstery cold crack resistant materials available to the industry.

In my opinion (and take it for what it's worth) this seat (Rev version) looks like just a recovered stock seat...They're definitely not light (the stock seats) and open cell foam means they'll collect water over the season, regardless of the "Treatment" and get even heavier and they'll freeze hard when they get soaked.
I've had this happen...It sucks!

It's a good looking seat for someone who is looking to replace their ripped stock seat but the rev seat looks no higher than the stock ones and since they re-use the original plastic base I see no way to make it lighter.

Am I missing something?

Personally, I like the looks of the new boss seat for the XP.
Just lube the zippers with a good silicone mold release spray and they'll never freeze on you.

Looks like a golf bag trying to **** your gas tank......

AK4life...........thanks for your comment........I know it's not helping getting true oppinions of the seat........but........you made my Sunday night.......sitting here laughing my butt off at the computer. I golf a little......but I have some buddies that are WAY too serious about it.....and your comment just hit home on many different levels :beer;:beer;

I haven't had mine on the snow yet....but I am very pleased with it so far. I know some of the pockets are small, but there's a lot more storage than the stock seat so I'm happy with what it's got!

I'll have to try the silicone spray...that was my only concern, trying to unfreeze the zippers! Thanks for the tip! :)

I actually really like my New Generation Boss Seat. The quality seems better than the older ones I had. Each model has it's own mold for the foam now so no more hand shapping. This helps improve consistency, price and lead time. More storage is never a bad thing either.

The Lead times are low enough now anyone can get one. Over 100 sold this year they all ship from next day to 2 weeks. I had just a couple go over.

I also sell the WRP Seats.

2 seasons ago i tried getting a boss seat for my apex, called the major distributors up here and they said good luck, called boss no answer, it was impossible for me to get one so i went with mountain mod and glad i did. high quality, canadian made, oodles of storage, but the new boss seats would prolly win me over if there was a ball washer:D
