The deadlest catch

doesn't sound like they were iced up ....wonder what happened ..

crappy deal fer sure :(

Being a precessing ship, I wonder what kind of seas they could take??
They said the seas were only 6 - 8'. I don't know of any seaborn ship that couldn't take that. Must of been something else that happened.

Does anyone know when this season will start for the show??

I've worked on a processing ship. Something other that 6 -8' seas had to have happened. I've seen 20+ and all it did is make me realize how much I miss land. I bet something mechanical or they hit something that made them start taking on water. Then the seas would make things very difficult.

Very sad to hear. Is this a ship involved in the show?? I dont remember hearing about it.

Cant wait for the show to start up again. I think that is the only thing my wife and I like to watch together, besides movies. Ohh yah, we watch Ice Road Truckers, and the new Axmen show too... Deadliest catch is still the best though...

It was not a catcher just a processer that takes catch from other boats so they don't have to make the long run to and from port. Still part of the fishing family here. Everyone has to work together to make it work.
The capt, 1st mate and enginer were among the dead so they did there job and got the crew off the boat with most of them safe.....

"The Pefect Storm".......a story of courage .....a story of human wit ......a story of drowning..... Starring George Clooney...and Mark Walburg...and they won't be in the sequel...

I heard the Rudder shaft broke so they couldn't steer into the waves...Is this a possible issue?

If they got sideways, the waves can set up a rythum that will end with the ship rocking so hard it would take water over the side faster than they could pump it out and/or actaully flip it over.

What kind of a roll could a harvester take??
I know the ship I was on could take a 40' wave head on, a 20' wave broadside and a 46 degree roll before capsizing.
