Does anyone sea an issue with having the belt drive completely exposed to any number of objects? WTF polaris?

It was originally a cutout for the chaincase drain plug and either Polaris overlooked it (doubtfull) or they wanted to save money and not make a different belly plate.
Sticks and rocks could be a problem. Copious amounts of snow and ice getting rammed up in there will happen and I would think this could cause hydraulic lifting of the belt as Mountain Horse mentioned in another post. In any case this is asking for a problem. If you came down on something hard enough its a one way ticket to a bent driveshaft (if they ever fix the one you have)
Tedd Unlimited has an aluminum bash plate for this area, but it has the same cutout because it was built for the 11-12's.

Just an FYI... We have been working with the manufacturer of the skid plate to have that relief removed from the design. We will have the new plates available towards the end of the week first part of next week.
Why does this always happen to me, what about the guys that purchased current piece not knowing about drain hole? I would have waited and killed two birds. not happy

LA, this has only been in the works for the last 3 or 4 business days. We received word today that the change was being made to the design.
