The addict jinxed my Jr 60

I had some trouble with the kids jr 60 this season. I couldn't get it to start for the life of me. I have the primer kit and that didn't seem to do the trick. I called the addict and he pointed me in the right direction. He also asked how many times I've broken the recoil starter. Not yet, I tell him. Well I got the machine running like a top. Played with it all weekend. Last time to ride before it went back in the truck and I broke the rope. Decided to put in a cable instead of the rope and now it binds up when I try to start the machine. Put a rope back in it and it binds up also. Is there an upgraded spring or mechanism for the jr 60 that I havn't heard of?

Thanks,

cwh

Whe I bought my 60 used, the pull start was hosed. I had to end up buying a new spring tthrough AD Boivin.....not cheap around $45.00 IIRC. Like most small engines recoils, you need to "short" pull it, to make it last.
