The 2010 HCR Trenchmaster

I have discoverd that my 2010 HCR is a trenching basterd, Is it just the nature of the beast with the 90 durometer track or is there some tricks that will help me out? It also wants to flip right over backwards in a good hillclimb, I tightend up the limiter strap up one set of holes it helped a little but now its harder then all hell to steer on the trail with all the ski pressure. Anybody know anything that could help me out? Thanks much

yep

Get rid of the stock skis for sure. I would be so sore from trying to turn on hard pack, and the skis dig deep into soft powder and didn't stay on top either. I put powderhounds on, and its a whole different sled now. effortless turning and really stays on top of the snow now. The harder duro track really digs deep in soft snow. I run the front track spring all the way down, and just keep her pinned and don't stop at all. Thats what the track is designed to do. My skis are rarely on the ground in a long pull in hard snow, or deep powder really. I love my sled, but you do lose alot in soft snow.

BOY Am I glad I went with the 80 duro on my dragon!!! my new SP800 is also an 80

if u have the rear suspension shock to stiff, instead of squating on the shock it will put the forces to the snow, thus trenching, think of a stif shock as a traction bar on a sprint car

OVS developed a sweet weelie stopper!!

OVS REAR SUSPENSION COUPLER- (AKA THE WHEELIE STOP) This product is a new product developed and tested by OVS and Simmons Inc. This product will allow the individual rider seven different adjustment levels to couple the rear suspension. Many riders will tighten the front limiter straps or adjust the front spring lower to causing the sled to steer extremely heavy in the front end to try and stop the sled from running with the front end to high in the air. The OVS coupler will allow the rider to stop the front end of the sled from running to high in the air without have to tighten the front limiter straps or taking tension off the front spring. The OVS coupler will not affect the ride of the sled in normal trail riding. The OVS coupler will only come into play when the sled starts to put more pressure on the rear part of the rail of the suspension and starts relieving the pressure off the front rail of the suspension. This product will give the rider the adjustability to control the sleds rear suspension coupling to the own desired riding style.
The OVS coupler system on the 2009 and 2010 models require no drilling of the slide rails and must be ordered by the length of the suspension 153” or 162”.The earlier model sleds will require drilling of the slide rails and to not have to be ordered by suspension length.
Ogden Valley Sports LLC. and Simmons Inc. have patent pending on the rear suspension coupler.

Im sorry I forgot to mention that i put have simmons skis on it, and i love then it steered really nice till I put more ski pressure on them.

That's weird. I rode my friend's 2010 HCR after pulling a hill on my 2010 M8 Snopro 153 and I thought the HCR actually climbed better and hooked up better! The snow was 2 feet of light fluff. I didn't the wide ski stance of the HCR, but the sled felt awesome otherwise.
