With some dealers getting ripped here lately, Thought I'd post up a good experience.

Got to Yellowstone Thursday night to break in my 1100 HCR.
Filled it with gas Friday morning "the second time gas has been added to sled" and went riding.

On the way back in I noticed a couple times that it started hard, but coming off Hebgen lake I speared a tree and took out a tie rod and tweaked a a-arm 50' from the trail. It was still drive-able so I started limping it in. Got 100 yards down the trail and ran out of gas, so I dumped my can and headed to town.

West did not have a tie rod "Neither did Rexburg" so I had to drive down to Belgrade Saturday Morning. Got my parts installed and decided to go for a trail ride. Went to the gas station and filled the sled, it only took 7.4 gallons ???? Went for a ride and the sled ran like chit at times.

Stopped by Cat and they said drop it off in the morning. Got a call a hour and a half later and they said the sled is ready.

They said the smart valves were plugged with WATER. So they drained my tank and put a couple gallons of fresh gas in it. I filled it at different station and added Isopropyl .
55 miles of riding later and the sled running great.

The moral of the story is:
Start adding Isopropyl as soon as you pick up a new sled.

Good to here! It is always good to hear about a dealer taking care of someone on a trip not just taking advantage of you.

Just wondering why you would need to run isopropyl in every tank. I have many tanks of gas threw my sled as do others in my group with no problems.

You should be running ISO in every tank, regardless of new or not!

In Minnesota the Ethanol in the gas helps with condensation in the tank.

I got a shot of water directly from a gas station pump.:face-icon-small-fro

Buying gas from a trusted source is the safest option.

I'd like to know which station you went to and filled up at, just because that's where we vacation as well. Just trying to avoid stuff like that. Feel free to PM me if you don't want to call that station out....

Did they take any pictures of the water????

Did they send a vial of it to cat????

C'mon man... there's gotta be some juicy details here...

They didn't just work on the sled, then give it back to you??? No way.

To avoid the problem the original poster had. Sure, you can get away with it. But is it worth a day of riding, a motor, or worse over a buck worth of iso?

Not for me. Iso in every tank.

If I was 100% sure of where I got the water, I would post it up.

I will say I have been filling at Polaris West with no problems.

You know it!!

I run iso in all my fuel injected sleds, side by sides, cars, trucks everything. What does it hurt? Nothing. Just added protection against water. I have a riding buddy that used to think it was a gas additive gimmick. After several lost days of crappy riding on a poor running sled. He uses it every ride now also.
