Just wanted to tell the low life, scumbags who broke into our trailer at the super 8 in Billings, Mt and stole a lot of our expensive gear, thanks a lot for ruining our trip out west to Cooke City. It wasn't bad enough that I got caught in an avy, blew up the yami or had my friend run my new xm in the trees, but hey, that's all part of the game. The theft of valuable snowmobile gear, that a guy works his butt off to buy, is not part of that plan! We did write a police report and said something to the super 8 and yes we checked with them to see if they had cameras and no they did not. So, if any one sees any valuable sled gear floating around, let me know and I will describe what I had and my three other buddies, who also got ripped off.

Oh how I long to hear the sweet sound of bone cracking as sidecutter efficiently separates fingers from hand.

I worry about that every time we have to stay in Billings. Have not had a problem yet, but it is in the back of my mind. Sorry for your crappy luck.

I don't even like running into Wal Mart in Laurel! I try to skip Billings entirely.

Watch the local craigslist for your gear, I hope you get lucky

super 8

I guess this is one of those "lessons learned". We will definitely not be staying at that super 8 again. Apparently, they have had issues in the past, because there is a big sign behind the check in desk, saying that they are not responsible for theft in the parking lot! The least they could have is a security camera in the shady area in the back. I guess with no camera, they absolve any liability.

I spend alot of time in Billings for work, which I find is one of the few redeeming qualities of the town...if you can even call that a quality.

Your strategy is spot on.

What crappy luck.
Almost sounds like a country song.

Here is what I did on my enclosed trailer was installed a 2-way 1 mile reach car alarm with door switch trip or you could put shock sensors behind panels by the doors. You can hook up siren to go off if you want to or just have it just ring the key fob.Key fob is my fav because they will probly be in the trailer and no way run off. i'll be out in the parking lot with my .45 and my freinds to give someone or some scumbag a good scare.Have no problem shooting a round or two off.
