Thanks Snowest community....

Just wanted to voice my appreciation of the Snowest community here on the Forums. I faced the grim possibility of not riding this season thanks to a motor that needed rebuilding and a wife with our first child on the way. I decided to take the new sled plunge after a pep talk from the wife saying that I need to get out and enjoy myself and not work so much. Good find, eh guys?

Anyways, thanks to Snowest, I found my sled here on Swapmeet and met a real nice guy who is taking the year off in order to allow his wife to go back to school since the birth of his first child. He drove the sled from Denver to Rock Springs, WY to meet me from NW Montana in order to get the deal done.... even though he had a guy in the same town offering more $$$ for the sled.

For a while I didn't know if I could really afford to take 3 shifts off work to drive 20 hours and spend the night in a hotel, so I posted on here looking for a trailer ride North. I got 3 responses from people wanting to help. None of them worked out due to the specific constraints of the delivery, but each person offered workarounds and ways to help me out somehow. Heck, even one guy tried to hook me up with the Montana/Wyoming Arctic Cat rep to see if he could pick it up at another dealer in Wyoming. Pretty cool.

Before, during, and after the purchase all my tech questions were answered in the Forums to put to rest any reservations I had about this particular sled. Not to mention all the support I had received in the last 3-4 years on my 04 900 MC. I can't even count how much money I saved on dealer labor since I was able to repair most things myself or with the help of several friends with shops and tools (which I don't have).

All in all, the Snowest community has played a rather LARGE role in my ability to ride each season. Anyone who complains about a paltry yearly subscription fee is clearly insane and doesn't really understand what value is all about.

Thank you, Snowest Community!

EDIT: This is in no way an endorsement of my approval of Christopher's UNENDING private messages. Let it go, man!

Rush44, I agree with you 100%, good honest people on this site. I was in the same boat as you, finally purchased a decent sled this year, asked all sorts of questions with all of them answered professionally. I would put more trust in the Snowest community than most dealers. Got a new to me Arctic Cat, tore into the DD, inspected it, and was able to put it all together again in the end. (I am usually really good at the taking apart of things and not so much on the assembling of things).

Yes I hijacked Rush's thread, hope he dont mind.

It's not a hijack, it's an affirmation! I'm sure everyone has a story about how someone on Snowest went out of their way to help a stranger.

I can affirm as well.. got a LOT of help from people on here.. just got off the phone with a guy that I have never met, or barely know via PM and email who chated with me for about half an hour in regards to my sled, helping me figure some stuff out..

Yep....bought a sled in Issaquah Washington a few years ago. Sled was paid for. It was picked up at the dealer by fellow SW'ers, hauled to Missoula Montana where we met them to pick it up and bring it on home (they were going on vacation). That meant a lot to us! Pretty impressive with folks you've never met before, and they do something this nice (soccerd6 and Powderhead). :face-icon-small-coo We had folks giving us heck that we'd never see the sled since we gave permission for them to pick it up.

Good place, and good peeps! :)

Haha! My wife was saying the same thing about paying this guy for my sled before I had it in the garage. She was SO worried that I was going to get burned.
