Thanks RK Tek! M8 Finally Runs....

My M8 is finally making some real power. Low elevation Set up

Last years set up:

With the SLP pipe kit, BDX intake, Boyseen rage cage, 74.6 gram cat weights w/140/340 SLP primary spring, BD Box, 46/36P Helix and Cat Orange spring I could only pull 8150 Rpms at 1000FT. Sled had ok top end but the bottom end suffered. Never seamed to run right.

So this year I changed to:

RKT Porting, RKT Head 13:1, Stock y-pipe, Speedwerx 925 pipe, Super-Q can, Boyseen Rage Cage, BD Box, Stock Intake, 77 Gram Cat weights w/140/310 spring, 46/36P Helix and Cat orange spring, I pull 8200 Rpms at 1000ft. Sled flat rips, runs crisp and tight. No bogs or low end hesitation.

This may be a stupid thing to ask....but isn't the sweet spot for the pre 2010 800 right around 7900 rpms? I know mine pulls way harder at 7900-7950 than it does at 81-8200....just curious

Your right..even maybe alittle lower around 7700 rpm....this changes when you start to modify. Most pipes for the M8 sweet spot is around 81-8200 which is were RKT sweet spot most likely is.

On 3 dyno runs, SLP pipe stock head max torque and HP were between 7800 and 7900 09 M8 SP

It is a 2007 and I do run a BD Boondocker Box.

I'm running this set up but with some light porting on the cylinders. I bought it this way the previous owner has it dialed, it rips. Yes it has a boondocker box.
