Tether switch

Ok I know I have seen many threads on this but I can't find them. I'm looking for a tether switch for my 2012 pro 800 and I can't decide which one to go with. I do a lot of boondocking and I want a tether that's going to stay hooked up when I'm all over the sled yet comes off when I manage to fall off the sled. If I could hear what you Guys have had good luck with that would be great! Thanks

two words...... Pro Design! Ive tried most of them except the TethAir, and the Pro Design is by far my favorite.

I got the polaris tether and it was plug and play. Overall quality is good.

Same here. Not super excited about the plug, but I figure worse case scenario I can always re-use the polaris electrical connector if it goes bad and buy a clip style.

I second the Polaris one. I have it on my 2013 Pro. Plug and play and very easy to install. Took longer to take the hood off

I like the ease of install of the Polaris tethers. Just talked to my dealer and he advised they do not last long before replacement is needed. He "averaged" a year maybe 2. Just curious if any of the guys with the Polaris plug can tell me if it were to go bad on me when I am out on a ride, can you simply disconnect the plug and then run it like it came stock?

Thank you in advance for any help!!!

Easy install, super easy uninstall.

So the plug is all you need to hook up? Are the other two loose wires option for sleds without the plug or am I missing where they plug in?

Just plug the tether into the plug that is located in the steering post bag. The other two wires are not used and can be taped back, just do not let them ground out or touch.

I used a zip tie between the two plugs to keep them together

The zip tie is not in the pic, but it is between the black and brown wires on the main plug.the other black and brown have shrink wrap on them, cut it back to expose the ends completey and insert them into the supplied clip.

On my Polaris tether, the rubber seal over the switch tore after about 6 rides making it useless as it would freeze up. Tossed it and installed a Pingel bar mount. High quality construction that will probably outlast a few sleds. Also, I would not get so hung up on "plug and play" - crimp two blade connectors to any tether and plug it in to your sled. Easy.
