tether on turbo apex

Can I cut into the brown wire coming off the key, or brown and white. Does it make a difference. I dont want to add additional wire to the bars, I want to keep the wire under the front cowl.

Someone must now the answer. Is it alright to wire this into the ignition swith by way of the brown or brown/white wire ??

You will want your tether as high as possible on your bars or you will pull it out while riding. I had mine on the cowl and had to move it to the bars. It is not good to loose power in bad situations.......

I have an 08 Nytro. I got a "normally closed" teather cord from Ulmer Racing. I cut the in/out lines from the kill switch down under the hood and wired the 2 lines from the teather cord in to those 2 lines. This makes the kill switch useless so I do not accidentally hit it anymore. The 2 wires were enclosed with 2 other wires. I believe the 2 I tapped into were Brown and Brown/white but you can just follow them off the kill switch to know for sure.

If you want to keep the kill swith active just tap into the 2 lines, don't cut them. Self Explanatory for sure but thought I would mention it.

I'm curious as to why a tether is such a necessity. I obviously understand what one does, but why would a turbo sled need one any more than any other yamaha? Doesn't the TORS take care of the problem like it is supposed to. Just ordered a turbo, so I guess I should find out what to do.

Thanks,

Kirk

the TORS saved my a$$ and my sled twice last year . came over a hill wide open and hit a ridge on the other side hard enough to rotate my bars into the hood . If it wouldnt have been for the tors the throttle would have stuck wide open  is there a way of intalling a teather so the tors will still work
