I am going to disable my TORS (keeps coming on at inopportune times) and wondering if I should run a tether? I have ridden Cats all of my life without one and just don't see a huge need to put one on a yammie....thoughts?

Thanks.

Hey Headrush,

I ran skidoo for a couple years and had one of course so when I got a Nytro I installed one. The added safety and piece of mind is a good thing. If you put on one get an "always closed" teather. I hooked into the brown and brown/white wires going to the kill switch. I cut them and just ran the loop to the teather so that I do not accidentally hit the kill switch and shut it down all the time.

yeah, it is a piece of mind, but I was thinking that I would probably never use since I have never used one in the past. How many of you have one and never actually clip it to you with your TORS disabled?

Excellent info there. I did the same on my nytro and disabled TORS.

I would say having it and never using it is better than not having it and wanting to use it.

If anything the machine will turn off if you ever get it rolled on top of you.

A tether on a 4 stroke is a very good idea for when (not if) it tips over and sticks the throttle open, the tether can shut it off before any lack of oil situation causes pricey engine damage not to mention stopping the track if it is going to run over the rider.
