Tether killswitch

Hi folks! I have a 2012 switchback assault that I bought a couple of months ago and I love it! I'm looking to personalize it and I've already fitted a 2up seat, a tunnelbag and a bag to the handlebar. I'm also looking into fitting handguards and mirrors as I'm getting tired of turning around to check if my mates as keeping up.

However, the most important mod that I want to do is to install a tethered killswitch as a precaution. As far as I can tell from my own research the circuit is open when running and closed when the tether I pulled and kills the engine. Is this correct? I've found a SP1 tether but I'm not sure if it's plug and play or if I have to cut into the wiring loom. Is there a connector from factory to install a tethered killswitch?

Best regards from Sweden!

Yup, I think you've got it all; I have the service manual up for an issue I'm troubleshooting, and can confirm the ignition circuit is normally open (key off, kill switch down, or tether pulled grounds it) and there's a plug for it. I couldn't tell you exactly where, but it should have four wires - two black, and two black and dark blue. On the tether itself, be careful of which one you get. I bought one from SLP, which is probably the same as some sold under other brand names, and it turned out to be a piece of junk. Here it is. It was the type with a rubber plug (red, in this case) and a recessed switch. The problem is, the plug degrades quickly, causing the sled to cut out intermittently. It worked fine for one season, and I'd be fine if I could just replace the cap every year (it's a ten cent piece of rubber, after all), but it's about the same price to buy a replacement cap as the whole tether. Meanwhile, the Polaris tether on my Pro (has a black cap) has never given me any trouble.
