Tether Kill Switch On The 2008 Nytro

What brand are you guys running for the tether kill switches. I was using the Gunnar kill switch for two years, then it went out. Replaced with exact same one and failed after a couple rides. Don't want to take chances on this switch anymore. This is a normally closed switch which was tied into red/white wire from stop switch to engine ECU with a ground wire. Just want to know about other options, thanks for any suggestions.

The OFT tether with the roll over valve is going on my sled soon. You might have to wait for one but it is very user friendly and very high quality.

gunnar is junk. i tried one one a few years back and it didnt even make it one ride. the OFT unit is good if you can get one last i heard OFT was not taking any orders. Yamaha also sells a rollover valve/tether in their accessory book it works good too i have used it.

Pro-armour on mine tied into Jacobsen roll-over valve with kill switch delete. Works awesome. It's never failed on the kill switch part, and now I don't even carry spare oil with me any more because the rollover valve works so good.

I have used a Sea Dog #420487 switch and #420489 lanyard with out any failures. They are inexpensive and are available at any marine store. The jacobsen rollover uses a 4 terminal switch #420488 which you could also use. The four terminal switch can be used for magneto or ignition style.

Thanks guys for the responses. I am leading towards the Pingel, appears to be well built and looks fabulous. Kinda like the handle bar mount. Possibly go with OFT if they would start taking orders.

I wish OFT would at least show there products. I know they are swamped with orders. But a blank website isnt much use. Have the products up & just no order page/ option at this time.

if your gonna get a tether get the roll over valve as to keep the oil in the tank

OFT and mtn vipers are very similiar I believe...those are the two Id be looking at.
