Tests on the new Viper mountain

600 lbs wet isn't that bad for a turbo 4s... I wonder if the weight feels lower than the 1100t? (as in center of gravity) If I was in the market for a 4 stroke I wouldn't look twice at the cat version of this unless some major changes are coming for 15.

Its a 4 stroke...........what more do you need to know...........:face-icon-small-con

Talked to the guys at outlaw motor sports and they have been running a 190 horse power viper most of the winter and they said its all but a game changer. It being only 40 pounds more then my xm and the ability to run 200+ hp all day on pump gas. Im impressed.

I like it. Looks like a season or two more on my '14 Doo and see what improvements the Viper will have by then....maybe 40 lbs. lighter??

I've never been a four stroke fan after riding an apex and Nytro but with the better chassis and the weights getting closer to something you can throw around it looks more tempting. No doubt it is easier to make a sled lighter in weight than make it more dependable. Usually any mods change sleds from undependable to very undependable!

Make no mistake, our future lies in the 4 stroke.
At some point it will likely be our only choice.

Here is an illustration of how far the 4/s has come....
2014 Yamaha F150LA 4 stroke outboard weight = 480#
2014 Yamaha VZ 150TLR 2 stroke outboard weight = 468#
12 lbs difference!

sleds would be the same if there was as much money to made as there is on outboard motors.:face-icon-small-coo

The few dollars worth of material stuck into a sled does not justify the price they charge for one. I think there is a lot of manufacturing markup. Meeting epa standards and constant R&D is a big part of it. Outboards need to meet the epa stuff but not much R&D in making a new bonnet for an outboard, plus it is a bigger markert.
