Testing DET/knock sensor, is it possible without a D-Wrench?

Hello,
Can anyone tell me if it is possible to test the DET/knock sensor without having to bring the sled to the dealer to be hooked up to the D-Wrench? If yes, could you pleas post the proceedure?

Thanks much,

Un plug it ... and find out if it trips on ur engine light...

Simple!!

Or if u want to find out..

Take it off the machine hook it up to a DVOM.. and hit the sensor with a screw driver.. have the DVOM hooked up at the time.. if good.. it will make voltage..

If the Engine Det.. Under a LEAN condition.. yes it will come up. flashing..

Not something u really want to have happen..

Ur EGT's would pick up on a lean ... running first..

I un-plugged the sensor and ran it up to 130deg and no check engine light came on. I also did the same with the EGT and no lights triggered..??

Thanks,

Weird..

Also... during this.. the hood has been plugged in.. with the dash lit up..

Double check plug in's going to the ecu.. make sure they "Click" in..

You should have an engine light flashing.. if the ecu is working correctly ..

Running with any one of those sensors unplugged..
