Test Specs for Mag, Coil, Regulator, Capacitor ...

I am hunting an intermitent problem, it seems to happen only when the sled is in a warm area like the garage, or last summer. In the garage it will start and run if i keep it reved and then only for a little while in an idle. We took it out a few weeks ago it ran great all day. Another symptom is that the lights are not working - this is the same sled that went swimming last july - so thinking it could be an electrical part that has water in it, which is fine when it is frozen, but will not work when in a warm area (thawed out), wondering if t could be the regulator, but I want to test the lighting coil/regulator/capacitor. Does anyone have the specs on how to test?

I would try testing the stator, both warm + cold.

All you need is a simple ohm meter.

All the specs are posted in my TECH TIPS for 600/700/800 CFI's under increasing your IQ pinned at the top of this section.

this what i have it covers 600 700 and some 800 all specs should be really the same i could be wrong.. But worth the try..
