Terra alps 860 ?

Their is a guy on snow and mud who is selling his used kit. He doesn't recommend it, said it changes port timing but he couldn't get it to run properly.

I almost went with the Terra Alps piston kit , changed my mind as I could not find anyone that was using this kit .
The kit I did go with changes the port timing , they also use a timing key to advance the timing and they use a fuel programmer ( don,t know which one )
As for the fuel programmer and timing advancement, I decided to use the ViPec ECU , this combo worked very well together. never had it on a dyno , but had a couple guys looking at buying a new sled drive mine and a 2013 Xm back to back and said mine worked better .

Here's an exercise.

Phone and ask (if you can get something or someone to pick up the phone lol).

This might be as far as you need to go to make a decision.

I was thinking of a polaris sled, but how has that bb worked for you?

it has been trouble free..and surprisingly the coating on the pistons have held up great...(coated pistons with ceramic domes)..I don't even know completely who's components were used, Engine tech or Bmp or what was his but the BMP bigbore pipe was with it and the head looks similar to what Bmp offered.
The pistons seem the same technology as Swain coatings but they were not done by Swain so that's where that is at.

I really can not comment on his current operations now but I know he had some haters a few years back that may or may not have been legit and that history is still plaguing him and like I said I have no insight to that.

My experience was good but for my sled now for going from a 900 up to the new bigbores I will be looking at Arctic Edge (Linderman) /Cutler or Rkt for my Cat.

But anyway the Polaris guys have the inside track on the Polaris Guru's...I just wanted to oblige your inquiry abit about Terra-Alps from my experience even though its not likely relevant..

Well another basher that knows nothing. please send me this guys name. I know he does not exist.
I can change port timing but it is very slight on the big bore. You probably thinking of a different kit that does change the port timing "a lot" using shorter pistons. Something I don't recommend. Terra Alps pistons are taller then stock.

I sell the kits all over the world, even our local dealer has sold some.
I did send parts to your provider years ago.
I don't use Chinese pistons in my kit. Good luck with yours.

Not a basher, just stating what I read when I asked about it. I would gladly be able to supply you with where it was posted:

Please explain , who did you send parts too ?

Don,t know what your talking about , which treads are you referring to! , and what has he been setting me straight on ?

Tire treads? You know the post about not understanding that the cylinder spacer on the "Fix Kit" adjusts the port timing to allow the taller piston.
