Tent suggestions, 3-4 person, best waterproof

Cabela's Alaskan Guide if you need light, otherwise Cabela's UXT Xtreme tent. It is to heavy to carry, but you won't get wet in it, can setup the rainfly first, than setup the tent inside of the fly its way cool. Alaskan guide tents also great. Anything Cabela's puts Alaskan Guide on is first rate stuff.

are you looking for a 3 season or a 4 season tent? Back pack or truck, or horse camping.

with 4 season tents, make sure the vestibule goes to the ground and a has a way to vent if cooking in the vestibule. My sierra designs tent has been around the block and works excellent. Not cheap though.

I have since tried a kifaru tent. Only a single wall teepee style tent but there is a sweet little collapsible wood stove that goes in it. The 4 person with stove is 8 pounds.

If this is in use in the winter or late fall, i would stick with a name brand like north face, sierra designs. Cabelas warranty is good, but you don't want to use it. We had one split right up a seam in 50 mph winds. If you are going to be in it. Get one that works in it.

i didnt see that on the website. How big is it?

i had the cabela's xwt's in small and medium.....they really do set the bar for toughness.....and WEIGHT. way heavy, sold em both since my alaknak is close to size/bulk.

if you want a good 3-4 person tent, look to any of the mountaineering companies. I like tim have several SD tents and they are all great. the north face, black diamond, bibler, big agnes, MSR/moss, hileberg.....and many more. don't be afraid of rei either, you can't go wrong with any of them as long as you get the size/features you want. a 4 season tent will not breath as well as a 3 season, but will endure weather you wish you never saw.....at the price of weight, and $$$. most of the makers I mentioned 3 season tents will take more weather then you will want to see.

I tried to send you the link but it was to long. Look on Cabales web site, under dome and backpacking tents on the left column it is there.

I say go old school boys scout tent..

EUREKA A- frame..

I have two of these tents.. They will fit 4 guys though it is tight, and 3 comfortably and two like a motel. They breath so much better then other tents, especially when it is raining hard outside. They are very easy to setup too....

I have used those tents for the last 15 years, the outfitter ones come with heavier fabric and better zipper too...

I love them for the airflow.... I have been in other sierra designs tents, and while nice and light and all cool looking, they don't have that much space, and if it is raining out, they don't breath at all... Nothing worse then being hot and clamy in your tent with it raining outside....
