The wire going into my temp sensor broke off at the probe housing, pol is on back order, is there an aftermarket probe I could subusuite it with or can a guy wire in a in line resistor to show a reading of 129.

What Temp sensor...Coolant or exhaust pipe?

I would not rely on a fixed resistor for temps as the map is variable base on info from this and other sensors.

Not sure if the threads are the same.. but an IQ RMK sensor has the right resistance values... maybe the pigtail is a bit longer... Maybe your dealer has one of those on the shelf or in the used parts bin???

.

In a pinch you can carefully expose the wire on the sensor and solder a drip on it (put a bit of rosin core solder on the tip of the iron then touch the wire with that drip only long enough to allow the solder to start to flow to the wire). Then solder the wire to that using the same method except "tin" the wire and only touch it with the iron.

I don't know if I should share this, but here goes.
A 750 ohm resistor will fool the ECU that it is running at a constant 127F. This is a test plug and not for field operations.

TRS.

Information is information...use at your own risk kind of thing.

What could be some of the drawbacks/issues/problems of running this on the mountain? Could a person damage their sled if the map cannot correct for running cold or hot?

Engine damage from over temp is my primary concern. The gauge will read 127 full time, giving a false sense of security. To and from the hill on the trail is the problem.

Sorry for poaching your thread, but has anyone wired in a resistor for the pipe-temp sensor? Would be nice to know in a pinch.
