Tell me where to go!

Flat landers coming out from nw Iowa. 1 experienced guy needs to rent, 2 of us have only been west once and are on 140 somethings, and one new guy on a m8 162. Last time we were able to make a trip we went to Tog but are looking at the possibility of finding some riding a little closer, so basically the snowies or the horns. We also need a place to rent beacons and a guide to get us to the good stuff. Any leads on where you would recommend going or staying would be greatly appreciated!

Probably not closer, but west yellowstone has a lot of options for rentals, guides, variety of riding, etc, and a fairly easy drive to get there compared to Tog. Bighorns is close, but less options.

We would love to have you here in Colorado. Might be a bit more of a drive, but could be worth it! These pictures are from the last 2 days. I will definitely take you to the 'good spots' and we have PRO RMKs available for rentals. Please feel free to contact me here, email matt@mountainskillz.com or call 719-849-3168

Thanks, Matt

Sundance Mt. Lodge Priest Lake ID.

Fly into Spokane bed and sled deals avable. Lots of groomed trails and backcountry riding from our front door. First class food and lodging. It does'nt get any better. sundancemtlodge.com or Tony 425-417-5252

hmmm

Thanks for the recommendations, but a few things I should have mentioned:
1. Ive got almost $1,000 worth of parts to put on my sled just to go out west and would prefer to put them to use. Aka I want to ride my own sled, and some of us aren't old enough to rent yet.
2. Half of our group is made up of broke college and high school kids, including myself. Cheaper = Better. Kinda like when it comes to beer

After reading your thread I would look into the Bighorns. No matter where you go though, snow is everything. I have not been there for about 4 years but at that time they did have rentals, and a guide, and man they had great food! Bear Lodge, Elk View Lodge, Burgess Junction WY.

I'd look into the Big Horns where from NW Iowa are you leaving from? The fastest we have made it to the Big Horns was 10.5 Hours we're about an hour from Sioux Falls (South and East). The Big Horns would probably be the best bet it's close and pretty easy to navigate...the area by Bald Mountain is usually pretty good and good riding can be found by just dropping off the Highway and heading into the trees to the North and South. PM me if you want some more specific advice have been to Tog, Big Horns, Cooke City.

It has all the links you need for rentals lodging condos whatever you need

go to the Snowies, stay up on the mountain at Mountain Meadow Cabins. Cook your own food, carry in gas, etc. It is a little bit of work but for sure the cheapest trip you can do. x2 on calling Cameron at 3C. With 1 day guiding and 4-5 days riding you will be under $600 for food, sled gas, diesel, and lodging per guy.

Have fun!
