Company has an opening at Albeni Falls Dam near Oldtown, Idaho.

looks like a nice little town, should have plenty of dirt bike single track and snowmobiling, is it wet and rainy like Washington state:face-icon-small-sad

thanks for your kind replies to my last moving thread:becky:

northern id is pretty low elevation for the most part, and more rolling type hills instead for mountains, good deer hunting

Rolling Hills? What part of north Idaho were you in buddy?

Yes it is low in elevation in contrast to souther Idaho or Utah or somewhere of that nature . The town of Newport (the washington side of town) is 2140 ft so oldtown (the Idaho side) is the same. We have more than plenty for riding bikes in the summer, heck, Newport even has its own MX track that is pretty good (Newport MX). Spring time is the worst part of the year since it is cold, windy, rainy, and just miserable. But once june rolls around (except for the past two years), its mid 80s low 90s all the way untill september. The fall is a nice time around here too, as its usually mid 60s sunny a good amount of the time, which makes it perfect weather for hunting. I also hope you like skiing and fishing, because we have more lakes and rivers than we know what to do with.

As for snowmobiling, Priest Lake is the big area around there. Echo bowl's elevation is almost 7000', and if you want I might be able to get some pictures to show you what its like. You can even type echo bowl into youtube and videos will come up. Snowfall might not be the record setting every year, but we get around 160-180 inches at the ski hills. If you ever ski or snowboard, we have one of the top ski resorts in the nation called schwitzer, i think thats how its spelled.

This area isn't too populated, but spokane is less than an hours drive away. And since it has over 250,000 people, you can find anything you might need to get in there.

If you have any specific questions about the area just let me know and I'll answer them to the best of my abilities.

Thats fine, I am just looking for information about the area, I know its not Utah but Utah has its negatives too. :face-icon-small-sho

The lower elavation of that part of Idaho means more power and that is a good thing right:becky:

Mccall will probably always have better riding than north idaho. They are just in a great place with their elevation and snow and have amazing areas to ride. But we do get really good snow a good part of the year, especially February and March. These months may seem late, but that is when there is the best snow coverage, and its not uncommon for us to see 3 feet of powder in the trees during this time.

3ft? lol there was 12 ft of snow on the warming hut in cascade this year. one thing about northern idaho, its really nice up there. courde lane is really green and pretty, it is a nice area, i have family up there, id live there.

Hey guys, this isn't a pissing contest:face-icon-small-win thanks for the info, I am not basing my decision on just local sledding, I travel a lot to ride dirt bikes and sleds, have 5 or 6 state stickers on my sled most years, as longs as there is some local powder and some good single track bike trails I will be happy, mostly looking to improve social life as I live in the middle of nowhere Utah, :becky:

DD,
If you don't mind a little travel, you could be very happy in NI. Great people, great riding (summer/winter) don't just look North either, check out Elk River which is a doable travel South . . . and if you pass through Emida, stop in at the cafe and say hey to Beamslayer and his Lovely and get 10% off fer bein' a sledder.
Is it perfect? No. Is it great? Yep.

Good Luck with your adventure!
