Tekvest?

Anybody using a tekvest or any other sort of chest protection on the snow bikes? Or feel you need it?
I always do dirt riding, never did on a sled but did go over a drop once in low light onto flat... passed out, cracked a few ribs. Sucky ride down the trail!!!
And haven't yet the couple times ive snowbiked. And now I am just finishing setting up my own for this winter and curious

I ride with one, never know when you will hit a bury rock or worse have the bike hit you some how.

nothing wrong with extra protection

I went to a full body armor top. I cant remember who makes it, Fly I think, it has elbow and shoulder pads as well as back and chest protection, anyways I thought I would hate it but I don't even know its there once I'm riding. What's the downside I figure, some of those old dead branches are like swords sticking off of the trees.

My avalanche vest have it built in... They have saved my ribs over and over and over...

I am useing my full body armor top (Sinisalo) that has chest, elbow, shoulder and back protection with an included body-belt. Also use my knee braces. With just a 1st layer, the mentioned protection stuff, a shirt on top of my body armour and a Klim goretex shell I stay warm for all my riding no matter how cold it gets. I have ridden in -28C with only that and have not frozen.

Tell me about those dead branches! Had one in the neck dirt riding luckily it was blunt enough not to puncture.
Ah ok, I got a full upper body one for summer. I will see if it fits under my jacket!

Tekvest freeride. Saved my ribs and shoulders a dozen times easy.
I always seem to get ejected or catapulted over the bars and it saves body parts from the bars and trees, stumps etc. Will not ride without it!

Upper body armor from EVS. Arms, shoulders, chest, back... Wouldn't imagine riding without it. Knee/shinguards also. You can never have too much protection. Allowed me to walk away from some pretty bad situations more times than I can count!

FWIW .. BCA makes a Vest and Avalanche Bag all in one Called BCA MtN Pro FLoat .. it has room for Tools and Hydro bladder ..

This is the one I have.... I would say it have very LITTLE room for anything in the pack.... After you put your shovel, probe and radio in it, it's practically full...... Maybe a spare goggle and a couple gloves.
