I was a medevac pilot for several years and I saw some of the crap that people can do to themselves. However, I and the people I worked with were professionals, so I have to pile on here.
"AS A FIRST RESPONDER, I WILL NOT SPARE YOUR FAMILY AND FRIENDS THE DETAILS OF WHAT AN IDIOT YOU WERE , AS I ASSIST IN THE RECOVERY OF YOUR BODY."
Of course people do stupid things, me more then most. But what kind of person would even think to say something like that? Dude, anyone can get caught in an avy. No one is immune to them. I once rode a small one down and I totally did not see it coming. Other times I have thought for sure an area would slide and it held. But dude, you are going to tell my brother that I am a DS as you are pulling my corpse from the snow? You better hope that it is my dead a$$ and not his that is getting dugg out.
Not ever in my time working with the nurses, paramedics, and other pilots did anyone ever say anything remotly like that. Thats just not right.
