What are the "teeth" on the top of the skis for? I had a salesman tell me its for traction for sidehilling. I almost laughed. So does anyone know?

Sounds like My kind of guy. When I'm doing some extreme boondocking there have been many times I had one foot out on a ski, spindle, or a-arm.

Your going very slow in a very tricky spot. have your weight all the way forward and WAY off to one side. Sometime to keep the sled form rolling or just to keep all the weight up hill. Eric

step

arent they so your feet dont slip when you climb up out of the deep stuff to re mount the machine?

If you've ever stood on your skis on a deep powder day trying to dig out or right your sled back up...you'll know what they are for.

i second the motion, in extreme tight boondocking situations, i can think of about half dozen times of riding with one foot on trailing arm or ski to get thru a challenge. have to admit sledding in the mountains is a "can do sport"

Makes it easier to get traction on the ski with your foot,to get the sled upright after you turn it upside down.If you've never been there you will understand what I mean when it happens:rolleyes: Pete

I get my little brother :beer;:beer;:beer;:beer;ed then I strap him to the hood and he puts his feet on them to keep himself steady while he holds the camcorder! our favorites are the cliff drops...

I would pay to watch you do that.:D
Really I would.

Oh and the teeth on the skis is so you don't put your teeth on the hood when you slip off the ski.

Hey, thanks guys. I guess I don't ride my phazer II hard enough around Dasiy or Lulu. :D
When I get stuck, I just call in the helicopter. ;)

Dave

No I really do ride Phazers, and ride in Cooke. I never get the highmark. I really was asking an honest question. I see now that it was kinda silly.:o

I do see that the teeth would be traction.
